What I’m Building Right Now

I’m working on a video player that plays directly from URLs. “Why bother? Don’t video players already do that?” Sure, but not like this.

A lot of players choke on YouTube links. The ones that do handle YouTube are usually buried under a pile of bloated settings and outdated UI. Something as simple as watching a video turns into a slog. And built‑in overlays? Forget it — most players don’t even bother.

So I set out to make my own:

  • Minimal, no clutter, no endless configuration menus

  • Full YouTube support with quality selection

  • Integrated overlay for extra control without leaving the video

That’s why I’m building it — not just another player, but the one I actually want to use.
